I just received the SAFMC update. It's almost all bad news except for possibly golden tilefish. I quote "the stock is NOT overfished or undergoing over fishing and the stock biomass has increased since the last assessment in
2004". Now that's certainly good news! I again quote "The new assessment will allow for a substantial increase in the Annual Catch Limit for Golden Tilefish. The council MAY adjust the ACL through Regulatory Ammendment 12 to the Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plan after receiving public comment on the proposal increases in March". If the two quotes seem confusing it's because they are. The first says that the new assessment WILL allow for a substantail increase in the Annual Catch Limit while the second quote says the council MAY adjust the ACL. WTF??? Harry |

Ted,
I'd settle for a trampling stampede out - no single file necessary. The most important thing would be the "gone" part. Harry |

Are you saying we need to physically remove these poeples?
I have quite a few friends perfect for the job.![]() BUT I ASSUME THEY WORK FOR FREE NOW. I NEVER SAW A JOB OPENING FOR "DEALING W ASSHOLE FISHERMEN AND THEIR INTERESTS" in the WANTED ADDS?----Are these people appointed or are they all volunteers? or are they all hired by different commercial and recreational parties to fight for their side?

Has anyone heard an update on this? Going to the keys this weekend and would like to do some DD. My understanding is that we can't DD for any species outside the 3 mile line, which eliminates all DD in the keys. Thanks.
