Shark ID

Can anyone help me identify this shark ???

The shark was foul-hooked in the side. It was released unharmed and swam away after 5 minutes of reviving in the surf.

First shot it looks like a bull.

I don't know much about the shark.... but the sand looks awesome... What beach was that on....

i'd say the snout is too narrow for a bull, i think its a whaler shark, especially with the little bit of black on teh tip of the pec fins

That is most likely a blacktip, C. limbatus. Pointed snout, tipped pecs and pelvic fins, white triangular sides, untipped anal fin. Definitely not a bull shark.

Elasmo.com is a good site for chark ID. Short for elasmobranchs which is the family sharks are in.

spinner shark i belive its pec fins are longer than a blacktip
