My face does not show up on film. My Mom said it had something to do with vampires.

This swordy was just found floating with the mako getting the meal.

Does anyone think that this mako in the picture is the actual fish that killed this swordy?

Or is the mako getting a free meal?

I have to say that was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen! The sword seemed very fresh. By what I could see I figured the girth on the sword to be around 40-45''. I guess the size of the mako to be 350 -400 and 9 to 10' long. It was a beast for sure.
We did have a 50w spooled with 80 but I guess he would have dumped it in minutes. No flyer or harpoon either!. We were outgunned! plus we were in a dolphin tourney with a few fish in the boat and one big fish would have put us up there.
I was thrilled just to have him swimming round the boat like that. Amazing sight to see

Cool pics Chris  50W with 80lb you would not have been outgunned until you got him boat side  But you were in a tourney and that paid cash  Great site to see wish I was there to see it.

Wild pics GT! Did you hang around to watch it eat the whole thing? Probably didn't take to long.

makos almost always attack the tail of a sword first to immobilize it, as in these pictures. this mako probably did the killing.

nice pics!!
