But the next would have to be the bull  I got one over 450lbs a long time ago off palm beach that kicked our ass on a 80 in the chair. We had a charter of cops on the boat that put about 5 clips of 9mil in it and it was still going.I know that 9mil is a weak round but it should have died of lead poisining  I have had a couple attack the boat while fighting them.It is the only shark that I think if you fell in while fighting it the s.o.b would try to eat you.

Spinner Sharks are also very game, when a 170 pounds Spinner comes out of the water and rotates 7 times it is pretty incredible!! I've only caught one up to 150# but its still incredible.
Heres a picture of one i caught off a dock in florida...

I have to vote for the Blacktip, C. limbatus, which is what is pictured above. They and the Spinner, C. brevipinna, not only jump, but spin on their jumps and this can straighten a regular hook very quickly. They don't get as big as a Mako, but pound for pound I don't know of another shark that can touch them. The Blacktip and the Spinner look similar and have similar habits but the easiest way to distinguish them is to look at the anal fin which is tipped in the Spinner and white in the Blacktip.

I've never been able to land a hammerhead on a rod and reel! Hooked several and they have always found a way to be free!
This was all a while back and we haven't seen any in 15 years. Tried a dart one time & that got expensive as well! We attached an anchor ball to a 10 footer and we never saw any part of it again after it went under. Could never figure that one out! Did it go down and wrap it around a rock or wreck? I'll never know. BIG FISH STORY, Huh! |

The spinner shark looks very similar to our Snad Bar sharks here in New England. But I haven't seen one of those in quite a few years either. A buck & a half sand bar fought similar to a mako, but no jumps.
