Tiagra 50wlrs vs Avet Pro EX50W...

I'm having trouble deciding between these two reels... The track record sounds near perfect for both reels on the long range boats... Shimano of course has a much better track record overall, but I do like the overhead of the EX 50's drag (57lbs)... Plus the EX is significantly lighter (67oz vs 86oz) and cheaper... Have you guys had any bad experiences with the Avet pro EX 50W?...

I have 3 , 50W avets right now..the longest one for about 8-10 months and I like them a lot. I messed with the Okuma 50W before the avet...Big mistake! I would recommend the Avet. They are sooo smooth

Yeah, I hear you. I'm in the same boat. I like the Avets because they are lighter. However, I'm concerned with the reliability and serviceability of the Avets. I'm thinking that the Shimano Tiagra As are more mainstream at this point and will probably be more reliable and get serviced faster than the Avets. I'm hoping someone on this board that has really pounded on the Avets can provide more info.

I've spoken to alot of reliable sources since I posted this, and all of them are 100% confident in the Avet EX 50W... Experienced long rangers and tackle shop owners are basically swearing by them and even giving them the nod over the Tiagra---although I wouldn't go that far... To the contrary, I'm hearing from the same people that the Avet T-rx 50's are failing miserably...
