thresher rig???

can anyone tell me the appropriate way to make a thresher float rig??? alls i know is that it consits of a heavy weight and a float of some kind if anyone knows the correct way to set this up or any other rigs that would be good to use of a pier or the surf that would be awesone..

starting with a bimini put 6 feet of heavy wire and a large j hook depending on the size of your sharks. i use breakaway 8 oz leads and beakaway ballons and send my baits down anywhere between 10 and 100 ft.
