I fish from the surf. I paddle my baits out 200-400 yds. I am considering purchasing either a penn 12/0 or shimano tld. Which one of these is the best for shark fishing from the surf? I fish at fort morgan alabama.

probably 98% of the land based shark fishermen i've talked to use penn senators or the same style reel of a different brand....there great cuz less moving parts, you can customize the heck outta them and they are very rugged with all the sand

I use lever drags on the beach and i've never had a problem with them. I would go with the TLD and put some braid on it.
