Default Tiger Sharks...food quality?

I've been hooking up with some pretty good Tigers lately. Been cutting 'em loose, but wouldn't mind taking one for the grill once.

Are they any good to eat?

Also, are there any scientist that would want the head and skeleton to study?

Thanks.

I would be concerned with Ciguterra since they are reef and shallow water feeders.

I love a good blacktip though, mmm tasty.

I've never known tigersharks to be shallow water and reef sharks. We catch them out in the canyon. Deep, open water.

As for food quality, meh. I don't care for shark anyway, but I've never heard of tigershark being anything special. I'll eat a mako, but throw all the others back.

Their meat quality is very poor, please release it and if you want to eat a shark, then catch a Blacktip or Mako.

Default Eating Sharks

Personally I have only caught small Sharks. I Just started serious off-shore Fishing a few months before I Deployed to Iraq.

With Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks about 3ft in length, I cut them into about 2 inch thick steaks and marinate them for about 12-24 hrs then grill them or through them on a hot iron pan to sear. Thats good tasting fish!

I started a webpage on Shark Fishing but it currently is only focused on small Shark Species. This SFC Forum is an EXCELLENT Forum and I am learning a lot I plan on using when I get back from Iraq.
