Thumbs up Thanks Nick

Tough bite today for the sailfish bash out of Palm Beach Inlet . One sail was all we got, but it was enough. Had a great time. Big props to Nick for organizing the gig. Think everybody had a ball. Lookin forward to doing it again next year. Report wise, bait was scarce. Ended up w/ a couple of rainbow runners, and blue runners, after two hours of bait fishing starting @ 5am. Winning fish ate a rainbow @ 7:54am. No other sail hits all day. Kingfish, and cutoffs kept us busy, but the spindles were scarce.

What size rainbow runners are you catching? The only ones I've ever caught have been bycatch of tuna fishing out about the rigs. They've always been 3#+

Tuna

Here's Fullabull putting the boots to our sail that won us the Palm Beach Sail Bash.

Here's Bill Netto/Fullabull and me at check-in just inside the Palm Beach Inlet.

Tied up afterwards at the Sailfish Marina seawall to celebrate our win.

Merry Fishmas!

These were babys , from 8-12". Caught them over a shallow patch reef. Had to weed through the triggers, grunts, and porgys. Like I said it was a tough getting bait that AM. Ended up w/ a bunch of runners, a small bonito, and three rasinbows. Ended up not being a factor, cuz the bite was ultra slow. Only heard of one other sail caught Sat, out of boynton.
Kings, and dolphin were biting better. Figures..... Thats why they call it fishing

There are still fish up north from what I've heard. I am sure a lot of fish made their way south with that last long blow. SST shows some good cold water just north of me.

Question More Sails headin South?

Fished out of Pirates cove/ St Lucie inlet Sunday. No sail flags back @ the dock . Did see a few gaffers and one Sweet Phin, 47lbs Capt Dennis got trollin hoos in 120' off the backside of the eight mile. Lots of kings too. You think we got another group of spindle beaks coming down warrior ?

Does anyone from FS know if Nick is planning on running another Palm Beach Sail Bash this December? That was a fun tournament.

Damn, maybe Nick is still banned by FSEric! D'oh!

I wasn't banned.
I would like to do it again this year. We'll seem if I can't make something happen.
