sabiki around the markers for threadfins but if you want ballyhoo then you would have to chum hard on a shallow reef and use small peeled shrimp and a hair hook and a bobber!

Use a headlamp and cruise around the bay at night. Spot the fliers on the surface. Use a 4-6' cast net and nail them. Fill livewell with best damn bait in the ocean.

Good Idea Bo Have dipnetted them before as they swam to the lights on the boat @ night. Also have had them land in the boat while running. Got pasted right in the eye with one a couple years back
Regardless of how I've got em they are fantastic baits. My largest atlantic sail ate one trolled, and my biggest Black grouper, 63lbs, ate one we dipnetted in the tortugas Don't see many of them inside the inlet though Pretty challenging to come up with them in any kind of quantity Will have to give the spotlight method a try.

As the water gets colder, the gogs start high tailin' it down South for the winter. Since the water temp went below 80, we have not seen one in the usual spots ! We've trolled the beach with sabiki's and gotten gog sized runners for the past three trips. When the tinkers show up thick, run out to them... Just as good, if not better than a gog. Just need alot of livewell space with good flow.

If your spending hours you need a new bait hole. Think I'd be pissed when a school of bonies comes through and eats 200$ worth of bait in 20 mins. Lets see 5 dozen Gogs @ 60$ = 300. At that rate I could be buying a new 50W every other trip. You and me are in two vastly different tax brackets. Plus most days we get em. If not there is always an alternate swimmin around. And to be honest I love being out ahead of the bedheads.

Thumbs up Bait Bouys!

Hell w/ all the speedos that hang around those bouys you got it made . They are just as good if not better than the gogs . Wish they'd put some of those bouys in @ Boynton. Would really save the patch reefs.

On the drift, should I go from deep to shallow or other way around?

Gogs or pilchards or herring? Which is the best sailfish bait?

Thanks guys!

The wind will figure out which direction you flow.

What is best is a preferance, Goggs smoke them on a kite, but then there is herring and do not forget about the hand size runner on the flat line. Oh, did I leave Pilchards out? They will jump all over those too. Goggs work probably the best on the kite for the splash factor. Seasoned goggs are awesome.

Goggs that live in a pen (couple days a week) that are fed well will be more relaxed. They will perform much better than a bait that was just caught. You did not hear it from me.
