Florida Sailfish

Last month we fished the New Smyrna Beach Billfish Invitational i was a observer for my team. Fist day with 3 releases. Second day 1 release and alot of wahoo at the end of the day. My team the Reel Fanatic was tied for first and won it because we had the earlier release time. So my friends are invited to the Rolex in Cabo.

A couple of weeks ago a local boat came in flying over 10 flags and the following weekend another flying 7.

I went to south to Tavernier last weekend to visit some buddys, party, and catch a few sails. We started the first day wioth no sails, 1 Mahi, and some nice Yellowtails. Second day we caught alot of balyhoo really quik and got out there. Everything was real slow until after 4. Then we had a double header but snapped one off but while i was fighting my sail we saw another of the starboard side of the boat billing some sargasso and eating the baitfish out of it so my buddy pitched a hoo to it but it didnt take it right away so he ran to rig another hoo and by time he turned around it was taking line. After hooking that one we saw another fish but didnt get him.

Looks to be a good season this year.
