Default kite fishing ?

when deploying my SFE kite it tends to have a very
irratic side to side motion, but once I get it to go out
it fly's fine. I have checked the bridal to see if it was
wraped around the spurs or tips. Any suggestions would
be great.

adjust bridle, also put small split shot on left corner string 1 at a time till it calms down and pulls to left slightly only. if you run a second kite put weights on top right to pull it to right slightly .

The kite flies a bit wierd when it's really close to the boat, but once it gets "clean" wind, it should fly calmly.

The split shots are very important. Also, make sure the kite is COMPLETELY dry. People say the SFEs can fly damp or wet, but the kite flies better when it is completely dry.

If the Bridle's right the kite should go straight up with out a problem it takes a while to to learn just were it goes in different wind conditions.

Only reason to put split shots on the kite is if your flying more then one.

Make sure you spray down with fresh water and let it dry after each use as well. If there is any salt spray on the kite it will be squirrely. The only other thing to check is when you attach kite make sure the barrel swivel is in correct position and not tangled.

If it ever is erratic for us, it's always about the clean air flow. We have a walkaround Grady White, so a lot of wind around the helm gets misdirected. I usually have to get on the front to get it to go up easily. Try to get in that uniform stream of wind. From what you have said, this is your problem. Good Luck!

I put the split shot on the bridle not the kite, it is mainly only to help when flying two Kites , but does seem to settle them down a bit, Ameristat said it best get clean air to fly the kite, i had this problem when I first started . I even went and purchased the rings to launch from a outrigger to get it in clean air. this worked awsome , but was a pain in my arse. once I got it down stopped using it .

In my not so professional opinion some one should make a high powered t-shirt launcher and adapt it to a kite rod/reel that way you dont have to worry about launching the kite...you simply aim for the heavens and fire!! When the kite peels off a certain amount of line or gets the the first clip there can be some kind of stopper pull chord system that opens the self locking kite and BOOM your flying!! Wadaya think???
