4-24-08 Killin em on Marauder1

After a hot sail bite yesterday, we had high hopes of another strong bite on the edge today. The wind had shifted more easterly today, and that change had all types of edible fish chewing. With the change in the wind, we had high anticipation of throwing a fat blackfin or two in the box. We got out the inlet around 12 and absolutley crushed the bait, all three wells blacked out with nice pilchards. Ran a little to the north and set up the spread. I barely got the first kite bait in the water before a hungry 20+ lb cow inhaled it. I come tight and get the fish in the box quickly, were off to a good start. Shortly after another nice cow picks up a bait, about the same size and he goes in the box as well. See a nice bust on one of the flatlines, and Eric comes tight. Fish is fighting like our target species, but after a good fight up comes a fat skippie, not what were looking for but we will take it... Reset the drift and pick up another fat dolphin, about 18lbs on a flatline, and then a 35lb cobe eats on the long kite. Box him and reset again and the sun is getting lower... Drift in to 130 and all hell breaks loose. I come tight on a sail on the long kite, a fat blackfin smokes the middle kite bait, and two more sails pick up the flatlines on the otherside of the boat....We came tight on two of the sails and the blackfin, and between the three of us landed all three. Shortly after we get raided by a bunch of schoolies and box a few more and then head in as the sun goes down. Another great day....

Total was 2-2 on sails, 30+lb blackfin, 35lb cobe, a bunch of dolphin biggest being 25 and 20, fat skippie, and waayyyy to many kings and bonies.

Congratulations: the pictures alone tell a tale of a good day of fishing. What's the matter mon, were you anticipating a bad day at the office or work?
