Got to the inlet a little later than planned, at first the bait was being difficult with the lack of tide, but once it got going a little they stacked up nicely. Two quick tosses of the 12fter got us 2 blacked out livewells with nice sardines and horse pilchards. Cleared the inlet, and noticed the wind is picking up out of the NE rather hard and the seas are starting to chop up nice. Ran a little ways to the north.....just set the spread out and one of the flatlines takes off. Our guest for the day comes tight on sail #1 and after a quick fight we get our first release. Picked up two more on the flats along that drift and then reset. Shortly after I get a shot on the kite and add a release, followed up by two more off the kite on that drift. Just as the sun is about to go down, I get my last shot on the short kite, fish is being a total prick screaming up sea towards my buddy Ryans boat, wound up taking us to the spool on the torium 20.....give chase....get the release right between his kites and head home. Gotta love late arpil cold fronts.......
My crew and I were on top of our game, and had a great 3 hrs of fishing. We wound up 7/7 on sails and caught a few kings and bonitos. ![]() ![]() ![]()
