Alutecnos Veloce 12 or 20.... the BEST sailfishing reel available. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Those Torsas are great, but, very expensive. I like the Shimano Baitrunners and Thunnus. The Thunnus is a little more expensive but it has an aluminum frame, larger spool and smoother drag.

Default Sailfish reel

In Key West I use Accurate 270XC or 870XC (6:1) for trolling with 20 pound PowerPro or if pitching ballyhoo or kite fishing I usually use Accurate TwinSpin 12's with 15 pound PowerPro.

I have had some 870's for 5 years with no service other than daily washing and are still smooth as the day I bought them. I am a charter captain so they get substantial use.

I use Accurates 665s and 870s for sailfish. They have unbelievable drag pressure and are smooth as butter. They also have a drag control that you can set for free spool and for casting pressure. They work great and the dual drag is second to none.

Alutecnos 20's all the way. get 4 2 speeds for the long and mid baits and the single speeds work just fine for the short . all with hi-vis 20lb line.
