Default Jurassic Trolling Rod Build

Here's the first pictures of the prize rod for the 'ROCK N TROLL ALL NIGHT' calcutta in the Jurassic Drift tournament July 28

Pic 1 - initial assembly of foregrip and ferrule, measure and cut the blank to fit.

Pic 2 - foregrip is glued on and shaved down, guide placement set and first paua shell wrap complete.

Sick

In all my years of rodbuilding I have never messed with paua. If you can take some pictures of how exactly you apply it, I would love to learn. How do you make the seam dissapear, or do you just put it on the bottom of the spline??.....I am clueless as to that stuff. Looks cool though. Keep the pics coming

You have pm

putting the paua on is a be-yotch to say the least, not sure if I am ready to give up one of my trade secrets yet. It took hours and hours of failure to figure it out and I still trash probably 2/5 attemts so its also quite wasteful. I just hope the winner enjoys the result!
