I use the Flex Coat power wrapper which has a finish/dryer motor on it also. Mudhole.com part # PBWD I also have a seperate rod dryer so I can work on multiple rods mudhole part # ARD-1. Both units, in my opinion have the right RPM to prevent sagging of the finish.

reefling,

Trust me when I tell you that you will only wrap one or 2 rods before becoming discouraged with a home made deal. I did the sewing machine motor and rotisserie dryer and it does a crappy job with a lot of time. These two machines allow me to do a complete rod, glue up, to finish in 2-3 days. I enjoy doing it so much I strip and wrap all 35 of my rods every year or so. I also do custom rods on the side for friends and family, matter of fact my daughter, just had me build a stubby bent butt 50-80, roller guide, bottom rod for her B/F for Xmas and a 30-50 standup rod with holographic wraps for her Xmas present.

Here is the links: Do like my wife told me, "Quit BS'ing around and get the good stuff to do it right!"

American Tackle Power Wrapper

Rod Dryer with "L" Bracket (11RPM Motor
Included)

No you don't. You celebrate Hanakah, like my wife!

In all honesty, those two machines have paid for themselves over and over again.

Tha metal piece in front of the reels seat is most likely not a foregrip but a reel support bushing for those reels (130's especially) that have an under-rod harness on the front of the reel also.
