Got a couple spots so pm me soon for a spot.No matter what this is going to be blast.

We are going to try and make it to the 50 but if the weather is bad I will not risk it.I am going to make sure we all have a good time Even if it is a sword/jacks in the ditch trip.We will have a blast and the raffle is reason enough to go.We also have to help TBF and join

NEW INFORMATION!!!!!!!! (as of 11:25am, Saturday)

Quack just called me. He's having internet issues and is currently unable to post.

99.9% chance that the "swordfishing" part of the evening is cancelled. Just step outside and you'll understand why. BUT THE SHIP WILL SAIL! The trip has been downsized to a 4-hour ICW cruise, which also means the price is reduced to about $25 per person.

All raffles, seminars, contests, fish stories and TBF membership drive WILL proceed as planned! And if ya wanna drag some baits in the ICW, that's fine too! "Pumpkin-Pooning" anyone? "Biggest Jack on a 50" contest maybe?

The Catch My Drift has a large air-conditioned cabin if it rains. The food (B.Y.O.F.) will still be served. The beverages of your choice (B.Y.O.Cans) will still be consumed. And of course, the Billfish Foundation will gain a few more members and support.

And if y'all are bummed about the weather, just think... TunaDevil drove 1,100 miles to be here this weekend!

See ya at the dock. -->UB

ok, heres the build of the new rods for chris and fabricio, this is chris's rod in the pic. work on the rod has slowed as work for a living has been busy.... the first pic, andy from exterme rods has installed the grips on ther 50/80 stand-up blanks. this pic is the cut down blanks to accept the ferrule. one's in the wrapper and the other has yet to be cut.

this pic is how i get the spacing between the diamonds. wrap a peice of 1/4 tape around the rod at the starting point and mark it with a pen. when you remove the tape the marks will give you the distance between the diamonds as shown in the pic

i use a china marker to mark the locations of the diamonds on the rod. be sure to mark top and bottom of the blank with the top marks on the spline and bottom marks off-set half way between the top marks, like below. also be sure to carry the marks past the base wrap at least 1 diamond to keep everything flowing

in this pic you can see the first part of the wrap has been put on and trued to the marks on the rod with the china marker. also toy can see the first part of the black spacer wrap. i pull 4, 6' pulls off the big roll of D size gudebroad black. then fold it in 1/2 to give me 8, 3' peices. with all the end's together, tape them on the rod like you would do a single peice. then cut the loops at the bottom of the bunch and seperate all 8 so theres no knots. i use a tooth brush like a small hair brush to seperate the lines. then carefully hold all 8 between your fingers taking care not to cross any.

Man, that sounds pretty complicated. The rod is looking sweet though. Ray, I bought a tiagra 50 for the rod you going to build. Can't wait to slap it on. Take care
