Are you putting an 80 on spooled with 130 or really using a 130?? Thats a serious stand up rig!!
I havent completely figured it out yet. I am eventually putting 300 hollowcore on the 130's, I would like to the rid to have a very fast tip to compensate for the lack of stretch which is especially important because I fish alot of drag. On the other hand, I realized when fighting that bigger fish the other night that I want alot of backbone as well so I can winch em up. I am still thinking Calstar Graphiter but am open to and suggestion. Have you built the Seeker. I am also not sure if I will go with 80' or 130 lbs blanks. I will be using the new butts. The 130's reel foot dont fit in the old butts. If I get the graphiter I will leave the blanks a little longer because I am putting in swivel rod holder in the front and I want the rod to be able to swivel and the line clear if the fish goes under the boat. Decisions, Decision, Decisions

Beautiful Work Ray [-o< .Pray it goes to a good home. I can tell ya'll from experience that the rods Ray builds are da bomb, and the bling is the perfect amount without being gaudy. Hell I'm gonna be jealous of whoever wins it

Another Grand,

I think if you are looking for a really fast tip I would look into the Seekers. If you compare the rating to the calstars the tip size is smaller on the seekers, which, generally, will make for a faster action. But then again, you need some serious backbone. Im not sure who you buy your stuff from but some distributors are nice enough to send you a handful of blanks to compare before settling on one.

The Rod Room in alabama really knows their blanks, and they are very helpful.
Good luck

I posted some new pics in the gallery of some cool thread art but for some reason i cant get it posted on here.
