If you need bent butts, a good place is pinnacle marine outfitters on ebay. I bought two short #2 bents for $45ea (new in the wrapper) made by Pacific Bay.
the site is trollinggear.com, or you can email pinnaclemarine@cableone.net

I looked everywhere, and the price can't be beat

I looked at the Daiwa Dendoh Saltiga deep drop rod for $149. Part# SA-B 56MHF-DD

I think it only comes with a long bent butt. I thought about buying one and then paying the $100 for a new short bent butt.

Total would be about $275 plus shipping. That's about $100 less than anything I found by Chaos, Crowder, J&M Tackle, etc .etc.

Don't know why a deep drop rod wouldn't work for trolling and swords.

Default Bent rod butts - aluminum butts

The best place I have found for Saltwater aluminum butts is trollinggear.com, or pinnacle marine outfitters. This guy is a rod builder and always has overstock Aluminum butts. If you don't see them on the site, try emailing.
I purchased several straight butts a year ago for an unbelievable price. The email address was pinnaclemarine@satx.rr.com
Good luck!

They have a swivel tip also. You will not be able to use a wind-on leader and you will have problems if you have waxed loops or other markers on the line.

Be careful which bent butt you get - the older Aftco short butts were too short to fit in a standard rod holder. If you have HD rod holders other short bent butts may not fit very well either.

Broadbill

I like the Stuarts, Bought the adapter that converts the 50 short to the 80 short and gained a couple inches. Great quality and more bang for the buck. All made in the USA. Had the gimbal twist on me on a brand from china . It was worthless

too bad you are not local...Tommy Greene has (or at least had) a bucket full of 2nd hand ones. Not the shizznit stora-butts, but definitely a way to go on the cheap.

Default Aluminum Bent butts

Best price on bent butts is Pinnacle Marine Outfitters - Trollinggear.com
The overstock price when available is dealer cost.
I have seen short bent butts for $45, but that was a few years ago. Recently they have been $55ea.
