Question Sailfish rigs

I have read about the ilander/ballyhoo combo, does it work good? what size of ilander? Also will this rig work any where? Im doin some sailfishing in islamorada. Are there any other well-known rigs that i just dont know about?

In the northern Gulf, we often use Ilanders with ballyhoo, but we target marlin rather than sails. We use the largest ones with the bullet heads usually, with horse ballyhoos on them. So many boats like to pull blue and white, and it's almost always in the shotgun position.

I've had blues come up on mine, my buddy caught an 840# blue on his, and there are surely many other testimonials.

Go to the reef get live ballyhoos, put them in your riggers and get ready COŅO!!!!!!! Slow troll those live ballys too.But that B/W Islander lure is deadly.

Tight Lines!

Dink rigs are deadly in Hatteras. 25 tlds 40lb main 2ft bimni 6 to 8ft of 80lb leader 75lb snap swivel mustad hooks the ones with the weights on the shank of the hook 7/0 split billed naked bait on the flats and long rigger and one on the long shotgun but dont put any drag other than the clicker give a 3 to 4 count on the drop back.
