Been using some 6 foot 50-100# Penn Intl Standups with 50w's with good success. Need to add a couple and not sure if I shouldn't stick with the 6 footers or try some 5'9" or 5' 1/2's. Fishing standup and light chair mostly...

With standup fishing, usually the shorter the rod the better. Do you have any type of swim platform or anything you have to manuever around on the boat? A longer rod is preferred if you do. I dont konw how a 5'6'' rod would do in a chair... depends on how big your cockpit is i would guess. If the fish goes straight down under the boat the rod might not be long enough to reach over the stern gunnel if its in the chair.
Just some stuff to think about |
