Default Complete Rig

I have gotten a lot of advice here on squid rigs and I appreciate all the help. I have found the tag-in method to be the simplest without lossing any effectiveness. I would like some advice on the complete rig including placement of the light and weight. I have experimented with several different set-ups, but I haven't fished with anyone else so I don't know if I am doing it correctly or not. I have tried placing the light and weight on my leader snap, running the weight futher up the line (20 ft) with the light on the snap, and vice-versa. Occasionally my bait will get twist around my line. Also, I have heard that depending on the moon you should place the light closer or further from the bait. I appreciate any insight you guys can provide. This is really my first year swordfishing so I am trying to learn as much as I can. I am also in the northern gulf and there is not much info here.

The questions you are asking have been pretty thoughly discussed, there is a huge wealth of posts already up on this site! try using the search tool and key word squid or weight etc..

I am sure you'll engage some conversations, but you're asking pretty general questions about techniques that vary greatly between different people!

just my $.02
