Go with the AVET's T-REX they have around a 100lbs of drag and are great reels. dont get me wrong accurate are the best in the market but u can get 2 Avets for around the same price.

If you want the best and have the bread go for it. Check out the reel first hand and decide yourself. I will tell you this, you are paying for the craftsmanship, quality, and their service and not for the name or look. I had them all except for Penn and the Accurate is clearly a step above them all.

a friend of mine had all Accurates, they are fine until you get salt in them, they can not handle it. Have to keep them dry at all times, they do not appear to drain or shed salt water well which causes them to build up salt inside and then all sorts of trouble happens.

BTW the Avet claims 100# of drag.......um, forgive me but, what exactly do you need 100# of drag for? ( open question for anyone )

Islandshark is right about the salt. I have two Accurates and they are outstanding , but they need a lot of maitenence. Accurate has an online video showing you step by step how to take apart and clean the reels yourself. Finding someone locally to service them was difficult, I ended up sending them back to Accurate for service and repair.

Yea, what do you need a 100# drag for? Not sure I would want to fight a fish that I need 100# drag reel. My opinion if I was fighting a fish that I need that much drag, my body would give out long before the equipment.

Spend the money on Alutecnos 50W or 80W. Best reel on the market and awesome customer service. So so so so smooth and the drag rules. I have used them for a few years now and the only problem I have had with them is the handle on my 20 Albacore rusted off on the inside of the knob. They knew the reels had this problem and replaced it the day I brought it back for no charge. The problem has been fixed for awhile though. Spool it up with some hollowcore and you can catch every fish out there.

The Accurates are pretty sick, but I really don't like my 665HN Boss Magnum.

Good Luck

Why spend all that money when a good ole reliable penn 50w could do the trick for half the money. Easy to work with, easy to clean and virtually maintenance free. Why do you think most charters run with them? Just my opinion but I'd stick with something thats proven itself thousands or should i say millions of times
