Default Improve TLD50LRS freespool

I know alot of you use TLD 50LRS reels and i just got one.
How can i improve that crappy freespool?
Thanks guys

Also, what class are you guys fishing them. Im gonna use 80# spectra with a 60# topshot

I do not use a TLD 50LRS so I am of no help there but may I suggest the use of 80lb top shot? You will not lose much line capacity and will gain a thicker diameter line to which you can more easily attach wax loops and have greater potential drag you can use.

the reason im sticking with 60# is that its a graphite frame and seeing those pics of guys fishin heavy line on TLDs and breaking the frame in two is why.

Plus, ive got a box full of international 50-80 sizes etc. So i wanted to get something lighter weight that i can mess around with lighter line on. Mainly gonna be used for threshers, makos, marlin. Not swords.
