Hello all,
I just purchased two new AFTCO flying gaffs (8" hook, 6' handle), and was wondering what the proper method was to wrap the rope around. I have the rope, as well as crab trap floats for the hooks. I've never done it, so any help would be appreciated. Every wrap looks the same, and I'm sure its some elementary way of doing it. Thanks in advance

Hooked Up

Take 50-80lb mono and use that to tie the eye on the hook to the stub on the shaft. Then just take some masking tape and tape the rope up the shaft in 2 or 3 spots to keep everything neat. The mono will break when you stick the fish and the tape will break right after.... Make sense?
