I guess I got lucky, but I found a brand new one on eBay for $125 (shipping included).

I do have one (dumb) question, how do ya'll anchor your swordlight when your using it? I mean, do you use some kind of special clip or something similar to secure the cable to the boat while the light is submerged? Obviously, you cannot just drop the light over the side and all that is holding it is the clips connected to the battery. I found a plastic reel (previously used to hold water sampling equipment cable) that works really well for holding the swordlight's power cable, but I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best way to secure the cable to the boat so the light doesn't pull lose and disappear forever....

Also, has anyone found a padded case that protects the swordlight during transport? Will a Hydroglow light case work for the swordlight?

I tie mine off to a cleat. Wrap it up in a big beach towel for transport.

I also just tie it off the the center or bow cleat depending on the drift...

As for transport, I dont baby mine like a hydroglow and have not had any problems. I believe swordlight is putting out a case though.

I figured the cleat deal was the way to go, I just wondered if anyone had found a clip or some other device that might make securing the cable to the cleat quick and simple.

I hope Swordlight does eventually come out with a case. I'm worried that if I drop it with no protection, the bulbs are history.

I wedge my swordlight against the toe rail, I run in 2-4 3-5 4-6 and in almost 3 years still kicking butt. I wouldn't try that with a hydroglow.

Default Swordlight now has a case.

Capt. Joe:

Speaking about Swordlights getting banged around: I was speaking with Tek a few weeks back with the inquiry of a case for the swordlight.

He says a case is now available for Swordlight.

I am going to check them out when I have a chance. I was never a big fan of wrapping the light with the electrical cord anyway.

I took my Swordlight I got from Tek (the best) to my local upholstery shop and they made a padded case for me for $20. Just an idea.

Lightbulb Zip It

Good Idea. A zip tie round the cord and to da cleat works good and is disposable/eazy

I too vote Tek. And, also took mine to an upholstery shop...$25 for a nice padded case, custom fit! I just make a coil in the cord and loop it around a cleat to let it hang.

I fish with Jim, the owner of Swordlight, and he cleats it off. The cord is designed to do so. Cases are now available as well!
