I use the small rigging rubberbands, Muc cleaner/neater etc.

Fact of the matter is this. Sooner or later your gonna lose lights no matter what you do. I've probably lost more lights than most of you guys have ever bought. I usually replace the clip they come with (LP's or Seamasters) with a much heavier LL clip. Then the only thing you have to worry about is when they "accidentally" fall over the side.

I hear ya Cap't Ollie.

The LL clip on the new Seamasters I picked up are HEAVY DUTY.

I'm trying to do all I can to simplify & minimize the distance I have to leader a large fish.

LHP, thanks for input, that's the new path for us.

I'm digging the set up to allow Light to slide down & want to incorporate something similar for kite fishing.

IE Often we kite fish w 15' leaders. That's fine for sails when we can touch leader for & release, but it's HELL, trying to leader a 40lb king on 15' of 50lb.

I'm sure many of you guys have had good & bad experiences w BIG fish & long leader. In my experience the fish sometimes sense a change in pressure & how it's applied & makes them want to BOLT or wrap up in something.
