Default Avet 50 or Tiagra 50W LRS?

What's your take? Which reel do you like better. If you have not fished both, please don't vote. I'd like to hear from those who have fished/own both(i.e Beerman).
I plan on adding 2 more shinny reels to my collection by/right after xmas

Haven't looked into them... what are they running $$$
The tiagra and Avet are about the same price(Avet slightly cheaper)

Nick, your welcome to borrow mine whenever you want, that way you will get a hands on feel for each. IMO I like them both, thats why i have 2 of each  but if you go Tiagra make sure its the LRS and if Avet the wide.....but i do call the AVets the winches

you get a little more drag with the Avet and they are made in the good old USA, and a little quicker retrieve in high gear. Other than that they are pretty comparable

The Avet:

Two Speed Model, Gear Ratio H3.2:1, L1.3:1
Lever Drag control system.
50 lb Max Drag on Strike with Free Spool.
Pre set Drag feature.
New cast control system only available from Avet Reels
(prevention of backlash and as an line out adjustment for live bait fishing)
100% precision machined aluminum rigid frame.
All stainless steel ball bearings and stainless steel components.
AveDrag dual caliper drag washers with titanium brake disk.
Handle knob with oversized grip.

Harness lugs.

Proudly designed, machined and assembled in USA.

Technical Data
Line capacity:
50lb - 950yd *
*Note: Line diameter varies by manufacturer.

Weight
67 oz

Tiagra:

Model Line Retrieve Per Crank (High/Low in.) Line Capacity (# Test/Yards) Max Drag at Full w/ Freespool (lbs.) Max Drag at Strike w/ Freespool (lbs.) Weight Bearings High Gear Ratio Low Gear Ratio

Nick, I own 2 Avet PRO-EX W 50II and they are absolutly incredible. As beerman said...I call them winches also...Just reeling in a jug/baloon you will notice a difference. I will bet you will like the feel of the AVET better. Lighter, Stronger, easier!

Good luck on your purchase!

Both are sick reels.

Maybe the Avets have the edge on "smoothness" & "cool" (go silver or blue) factor, but it's probably easier to get local service on your Shimano.

Maybe do like Beerman & get one or 2 of each :

I am in the market for one on a short bet butt for Xmas present to myself.

FYI, I said local "service" Nick.
I'm talking drag washers, bearings, handles, stuff you can easily swap / replace w/o having to send reel off to Cali.

Just thought more tackle shops are accustommed to annual service on your Tiagra than say your Avet (although that may be changing).
