why not big egg weights?

With the problem of some of these rigs being the weight such as they fall off or dont come off when you want them too. why not just use egg weights to get your rig at the desired depth. put the weight above the swivel like a carolina rig.

you can use cannon ball weights and drill hole through it if you need a large amount of weight or just string a few heavy egg weights together.

I fished with guy that used 16 egg sinkers above the snap swivel. I don't see why it wouldn't work. But I am still learning other peoples techinques to develop my own.
