Which do you all recommend? Will be using it in a CC and straight butt rod. Do all of them have clips for safety harness?
Thanks for opinions. |

In my opinion I would go with Either the Braid Power Play or the brute buster. These harness go around your lower back and rear end rather then the reg fighting harness with is only around your back. I have used all of the above and find that the Power play offers the most comfort. Also get the drop straps that hang the belt from the harness. This way all you do is put on the harness and snap the belt right on. I dont think that any have clips for a safety harness but you can easily clip a rope right to the back. Afco makes one that have a handle on the back with is pretty nice as well. I hope this helps. Let me know which one you go with.
P.s The rod holder is always a good choice. |

Fuzzy,
There was a thread about this earlier in the week. Look at the past thread or save yourself the time and go buy a Black Majic. hb |

I've been told (and have read) it's not wise to connect a safety rope to an angler that is also connected to the rod. Think about it... big fish pulls hapless angler overboard... safety rope goes tight... line to fish is tight... angler is a link in the chain.
It's far safer to attach the safety rope to the reel, so there is no tension on the harness clips, and the angler can disconnect himself if needed. This also saves the rod from swimming away when the angler disconnects in the water. Safety rope attached to a person is ideal for a gaff- or leaderman, who is not connected to any other hardware. |

Ordered the Power Play set up. Found the other thread.
Now I just need a fish to try it out on. Thanks for the info. A safety strap to the rod does make more sense. |
