Default SETTING DRAG QUESTION FOR SWORDFISH....

This may seem like a common sense question for some of you BUT believe it or not different anglers set their tip and bouy rods at different drag levels when waiting for a bite. To avoid confusion here both my 50W's are set at about 13 lbs tension.

The question here is for the tip and bouy rod when awaiting a bite are you your rods set at strike, half way to strike, etc? Also, some anglers I have noticed set their bouy and tip rods differently.

Thanks in advance to anyone giving input here,

Sincerely

We keep them all at strike of 12 - 13 lbs. and when the clicker goes reel tight, theres PLENTY of slack in the line with the scope of however deep the rod is. Hes either on or hes not..... But with that same theory, it couldve been the reason we had a run off tonight. Its all in preference

Strike around 18lbs. When you are waiting for the bite, keep just enough tension so that there is no line running out when the boat rocks. Sometimes I've fished them in strike from the start on deep squids.
