:?: I own a charter business in Matazlan, Mexico. I want to go after the Swords in my area at night no one down here is doing this. I have purchased the equipment needed but have a few questions.
1. how many lines should I run in my spread off my outriggers? 2. How should I mark the lines (lighted Baloons or bottles) should they be staggered for differant depths? 3.How many pound test for leader and how long? 4. Should the light sticks or light lures be at the top of the leader or close to the bait? 5. What is the most common weight sizes i.e. 8oz to 32oz? |

Mazatlan, i am not an expert, just tellin what i know.
1. run as many as you can handle 2. baloons work well to stagger your lines away from the boat. for fishing multiple lines, vary from 100' to 350' is the norm. 3. 300' mono is the usual. 15-20 ft. 4. the lights attract the fish and bait, but don't have to be super close to the bait for swordies to see them. remember, swords eat most baits without a light source naturally. 5. 8 to 32 depending on the drift speed. you wanna keep the baits straight down as possible, keeps lines from fouling. faster the drift, the more the lead. |
