Default braid backing?

I recently pruchased some 80w's. I spooled them with a 120lb dacron braid backing with momoi mono on top. Every time I tested my splice knot the braid broke first, not at the knot. Any ideas why?[/list]

I had trouble getting an albright knot to hold, so I modified it slightly. This is why I was testing it to begin with. My knot holds well, and the line doesnt break at the knot. To test it Im wraping it around my foot and pulling. It occured to me that momoi #100 may have a breaking strength greater than the #120 braid......possible?

You should try splicing the mono directly into your hollow dacron rather than using a knot.
