Default Lead weights

Ive been using 2 and 4 lb lead in the usual 2.5-2.8 kt current but I think my deeper (300 to 400 foot range) lines need a little more weight. I use 80 lb braid on the deeper lines and 80 lb momoi diamond on the shallower. Anyone use more weight in this situation?

should be plenty...i advocate heavy weights, but i usually never go over 3 lbs. i generally stick to 2 and 3 lbs on all lines.

The most i fish on my 300... even 500 ft rods is 24. Everything else is much lighter, as light as possable, these fish may be dumb, but even they can feel 4 lbs of lead.

We use 20 oz. on everything. Sometimes 24 oz. on the 300'. Seems to work well even in a 4-5 knot current. If you are using 3-4 lbs. you should certainly have them break-away. That is a lot of weight and drag if not.
