Default Monofilament Leader - Attachment Preference to mainline?

Part 3

How do you attach your leader to the mainline?

It seems like you either connect a leader directly to a Ball Bearing swivel or BB Snap swivel or you may connect to an intermediate wind-on leader connection and Ball bearing swivel then a shorter leader section say 6-7
ft.

Does anyone just skip the swivel completely, for drifting? Just a loop-to-loop to the mainline. Any Takers here. I have thought about it but I have not done it, not yet at least. Seems like a secured weight may keep you from getting too badly twisted if you keep it on the mono portion of the wind-on. Hmmm.

What is your choice any why?

My wind on is attached with a loop to loop to my mainline. At the end of my wind on is a 300lb ball bearing snap swivel to which I snap my bait leader. I use this setup for all my offshore fishing, swords, marlin, wahoo and tuna trolling.
