Looking for a good spinning reel that can hold a decent amount of line for a vertical jig...... any suggestions , cheaper the better ....

As far as a reel goes I would go with a shimano spheros, holds a lot of line, has pretty good retrieve, and is for the most part cheap

I still have em in my mix of spinning tackle though I also have the very expensive reels too....get yourself a Diawa BG 60 or 90. Still very affordable and durable.

Tight lines.

IMO Penn Captiva is the absolute best value in spinning reels. 10 ball bearings. Metal body. Big one will cost you 70 bucks. I would look at them.

Fin nor offshore. Depending on what your going to use it for is going to determine what size you want to get

I dont know , i usually drift fish from 200'-60' and i hate just sitting , so i figured i would buy a rig for Vertical Jigging ....and give it a try while waiting for the bite ....

Is vertical jigging any good at those depths or would i need to go deeper ??
My boat is only a 16' 6" bay boat (considered a 17') , so i try not to go out to far and i can only go out on flat days ... ( last 2 weeks have been great )

dude, I live in NC and jigging is real big up here. I have fished with alot of guys who know way more than me about jigging but I can tell you that the best jigging reel for the lowest price is the Quantum Cabo 70pts or 80pts. Load the reel with 65lb suffix or daiwa boat braid and put it on a okuma cedros speedjig rod and you will have a low cost badass jigging setup. Next thing to do is go drop a paycheck on jigs b/c they are addictive.

okuma speedjig rod (get the 30-65lb rod)- $109
sufix 65lb 330yds marked braid- $40
Quantum Cabo 70pts- $210

I mean this rig will last and it will pull in some big fish for under 400 bucks.

Good luck bro!!!

one more thing. Your boat is plenty big enough to fish any spot off of boca. The furthest out you will ever run to jig is what... 4 miles? Go to the hydro and drop a jig down. If it makes it to the bottom on the first drop w/o getting nailed I would be very surprised. Or find good bottom in 100-300ft and just go for it. You will not be disappointed.
