Have a opportunity to get some Tica 50 wts or Daiwa Slt 50w 2spds. Both look nice and beefy. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I must argue that it's pretty hard to go wrong with an all aluminum big game reel these days... It's becoming more of a question of preference... I'd heard mixed reviews about avets for the past cople years before finally buying one... People either swore buy Avet or swore about them... The "swearing" about Avet was almost entirely pertaining to the problems with the bearings in the past---Hence, I came to the conclusin that purchasing one was worth the risk---as the bearing issues had supposedly been taken care of... I bought the new EX pro 50 narrow San Diego faceless special and it has been fantastic on the last four mako trips I've been on...

I forgot to mention that I have owned the Daiwa SLT30 fo some time now with no problms at all.. It is one of my favorite big game reels, and I've caught 200 pound makos on it with relative ease... I haven't tried the SLT50 wide though---but I would wager that it's a great real---It's just been in the shadow of the Shimano 50wlrs since its incption though...
