How do you guys rig them for swording? Never used them before but Id guess I rig it like a mullet. Wondering if anybody has any special rig to share.
Thanks in advance. Richard

I love em though! they also look like a trimmed up 275 verado in the kite .. you can also just hook one in the nose back or tail if 'he's' up in the light! even dead you can rod tip them butterfly'ed..

Do you cut off the tail and fins? Single hook? Any pictures?

I like riggin em head down which I believe is a more natural presentation. I sew the mouth and gills shut. I also cut off the tail. I then either sew or tie wrap the hook into place along the side of the bait totally exposed about half way down, also neatly sewing the end of the leader and crimp into place. I will try to add a photo but I don't have any curently rigged. I use this same approach on bullet bonitos (small little tunies), mullet, ladyfish and even super horse ballyhoo. I used to put the hook through some of the bait but having it totally exposed has worked better (for everyone else since I have had the Midas touch in reverse when I touch a rod of late). Good luck!!

Juani-thanks for the input. Thats a lot like the way I rig a Spanish Mackeral. I will try it with the tinkers too since I'm comfortable with it.

Just defrosting a couple tinkers right now to rig up for tonight. Gonna rig em just like whiteout said, just without taking the back bone out and throwing in a few stitches to hold her together.

I rig em old school Jersey sharkin style. Put the hook thru the mouth out the gills and back into the belly cavity and poke the hook out. One stitch in the gill and one to keep the mouth shut. Always works for me and takes about 1 min to rig. I agree with mikeybo1 don't over complicate, I've rigged Yellow tails, Rainbow runners, Muttons, Toros all the same way and caught on all of them. When they're hungry they're gonna eat.
