And by the way, I am still fishing toriums and saltist. They have a problem, but I have not found a reel I like using more in the same price range, plus if the start to back reel grab t5he handle and reel. More excitment as I say to the guys on the boat.

Lightbulb no problems w/ the saltists

Really suprised to hear you have had that problem w/ the saltist. I did have that issue repeatedly w/ the toruims. You'd be hard prtessed to find a couple of guys fishing thier gear as hard as Harry and I do, plus I have a couple commercial buddies fishing the saltists w/ no issues. Fact they are ther ones that recommended the reels to me.

I have 6 saltists in all sizes and have abused them with everything from Pacific Yellowtail to Atlantic Amberjack and the next anti-reverse clutch that I break will be my first. If you are continually breaking the anti - reverse dog in the same reels you might want to check the gear as if the gear is worn the lock will not engage as it should and could fail. Is it possible that you are engaging the drags with a hooked fish running with the line and "occasionally"
hearing that dreaded gear jumping noise that will defintely cause failure? You know the sound I mean as we have all heard it once or twice when we sort of screwed up.

Different strokes for different floks. Until I have the problem as you describe it I cannot agree with your position. Nothing personal just my experience has been different than yours.

To each his own. Just sharing my personal experinces. As i stated i continue to use both reel models. They work the majority of the time. I do agree the shimano does do it more.
