Thumbs up San Sal July 09 w/pics

First day: only half day after the plane ride so we get out for the evening bite. get a small blue to come up on the flat, hit and miss
Second day: run to the humps, find some nice yellowfins 10-65ish, no marlin
Third day: grocery shopping day, plenty of nice yelloweye, queen, and silkys. Try for a misty with know luck
Fourth day: day four of trying to drag a blue with no luck until some afternoon action, finally get one hooked up and im in the chair for my first blue marlin, he dumps a tiagra 50 in the process of jumpin all over the place, we get him up for a few pics and release, bout 100-125#. Later we find one frigate with one 20# cow. On the way in we decide we want a wahoo to finish the day so one lure hits the water... bam... 5min later we got em on doin 12kts running to the dock. We're all thinking its a cuda so I drag him in and 25# wahoo hits the deck and we cant stop laughing. I voluntarly end up in the water at the dock
Final day: overcast and blowin bout 20kts, make the run for some more tuna, mix of small yellow, black, and skippys. once again alot of trolling the rest of the day but no blues
All in all great trip, good weather, good fishin, rum/cokes were flowin, and coolers were full of fillets with pics and video to remember the good times

I met a guy from keys last week in bimini who ran his 33t to san salvador and said the fishing was sick. he also had the baddest fighting chair I ever saw in a contender.

Nice trip and catch Kevin. Thanks for posting the pictures. Did you fish on Kennys boat over there?

Ive run my boat and another center console there and fished on another boat. The fishing is great and there is very little pressure on the fish. Last time I was there we caught seven blue marlin in 6 days. If only it was closer, but then it wouldnt be any good.

Nice trip.....but be careful about swimming in that marina. We had a couple of cocktails one night and decided to turn the boat around so we could use the fighting chair....over the next couple of hours we caught some truely large bulls and a couple hundred pound tiger:

Ya Nice boat, big for a 28. Johnny came with us and got some cool video and pics for me. The blues were scatered at best with only a handfull each day between 6 boats. One of them went 2 for 6 one day. Jack was there for a few days on the Black Bart... didnt see a thing. These trips are few and far between for me with a lack of $$ and FAU so it was nice to get away and see what real fishing is, not like the crap round here sometimes.
