Default Signs of the times

I know it's just a couple of Governor races but could the Democratic losses be a sign that people are starting to see the light? I'm anxious for Nov 2010 to get here. If the country stays where it is now, and Obama's popularity contiunes to fall, the results should be interesting. Harry

I'm with you Harry. (All of the house seats and 1/3rd of the Senate seats are up for re-election in 2010). I think people are really starting to see through the bullshit. The administration just needs to keep doing what they are doing to defeat themselves next year.

I don't think they are going to get the message this time, but they should start getting uneasy with their current status, the most impressive swing in votes was from the independents which by the way were the ones who elected Obama,
I can see a lot more people pissed off between now an 2010 if they pass one of the healthcare bills they are considering now and the economy/jobs don't pick up by then (even though none of them are directly affected by the government except by taxes)
there is hope that this will change

I'm glad Corzine lost - any businessman who leaves Goldman Sachs and a huge salary (even if he were "pushed out")to become Govenor sure stinks of corruptness. Here's what he spent of his PERSONAL funds towards his political career:

This year, the governor loaned or contributed to his campaign a total of $28.2 million in personal funds for the primary and general election. He first won the governorship in 2005 after spending $42.4 million of his own money against another wealthy, self-financed candidate. In 2000, he won a U.S. Senate seat after spending a record $59 million in personal funds. In total, Corzine has spent at least $130 million from his own largesse over the course of nine years and three statewide campaigns.

I love that Bloomberg spent 100 Million on this election. His competion spent 7 million. He won but only by 3% points!!!! I guess when you have 16 Billion and want to be mayor you can buy it. Not to mention he had the term limits changed. So he could serve another term.

150 Mil to be the Mayor of NY city again. How many charities could he have helped with that money!!!!! It not like he even bought something tangible. Not even his first time as mayor but 3rd. What a waste of money. Well maybe not I am sure he is getting it back one way or another in the end.

The recent elections are showing that the people are "now aware" that the Dems control the house and wield "absolute power" through majority vote. Most Americans are, and should be, very uncomfortable with ANY political party in this position. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The past few months of health care debates that were constantly overshadowed with the threat of "railroading" the democratic will into law have scared the hell out of me.....and probably most of the nation, Dems and reps alike. That does not yield the will of the people, only the will of the elected individuals.
I hope to see a political swing to the right to ballance the "left leaning" scales once again. Only then will ALL of the people of America be represented.

I believe the issue of TERM LIMITS is far more important than health care. This is the only way to get our representatives to represent the people, instead of the lobbyist and special interest groups that will pay for thier re-election. After term limits have been reformed, we can openly concentrate on the real issues for the benefit of the US citizen...not the lobbyist, large corporations, unions and media.
