Default They're tough to cheer for

If you're a "Fin Fan" today had to be really painful. Blowing a 24-3 lead and going from looking like a real team to a team that couldn't stop anyone has to be tough. Between the Canes back and forth OT loss and this game you kind of wish it was the last football weekend of the season. Tough game for them. I don't know how they are going to bounce back from this one. Harry

Hmmmmm, good question. Could it be Sanjizz and the rest of the Wet's? Sorry I just do not see the Wet's beating the Fin's. Although today's loss wasn't a good thing for the dolphins, they succeded in doing what no other team has done so far in playing the Saints this season. BTW, regardless of today's loss the Fin's are still 2-0 in the division soon to be 3-0 as of next Sunday, (just my prediction).

The Wet's beat the Raiders today, and that is really not saying much. Last week Sanjizz only had an 8.3 QB passer rating against the Bills..... 8.3!!! (Fireman Ed's passer rating was higher just for watching the game). The Fin's will run over the Wet's next week and will be scrapping them from the bottom of their cleats; your strongest player on the D-line is out for the season, the Fin's have won the last three games against the Wet's. The Dolphins are definately not nearly complete in their re-building process but the Wet's have already traded any future draft picks on a get rich quick scheme that rarely, if ever, pans out in this league.

just my taxed .02

Lessons from this week's game:

-Ted Ginn is officially a BUST, i have never seen anyone drop so many passes after they hit him in the chest.
-who told Henne he can win in a shootout with Brees?
-the dolphins need a whole new secondary. ALL of them need to go.
-they need to go back to basics, if you take the 68yd run from Ricky Williams, they only ran for 70yd the whole game, specially after they got the lead back in the 4th and went 3 and out with 3 passes and no runs and took only 30 seconds off the clock.

Richard,
I posted what I did because I was "gently" making the point that the Fins played an awful game, for many reasons - some of which Sammy enumerated, just showing that they aren't that good and there is more pain to come so cheering for them is difficult. Maybe I'm just a "fair weather" supporter but when they change their style of play in the second half and just look sooooo bad they deserve to be "put down". If that opened the door for you to run with the Fins/Jets rivalry - please run with it and have fun. In the past it used to be no matter how good the Fins were the Jets were always their nemisis. Some thought this year was different or no worse than one win for each team. After yesterday it would be hard to predict the Fins will beat the Jets next week but it's a rivalry game and maybe after this week's disaster for the Fins they will come back strong and play angry against the Jets. Then again it might snow down here this week. Harry

Richard, It's hard to get pumped up because the Jets beat the RAIDERS!!!! heck, the marlins could beat the raiders.... but then again, after three straight loses, anything will get you pumped up...
we'll see what happens this weekend when the dolphins defense tortures Sanchez and he doesn't have the 10 seconds he had to throw yesterday... I expect a totally different game this sunday...

From the time Ginn was in the Bowl Game against Florida and ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and then promptly injured his foot celebrating in the end zone I never thought much of him (good run back but stupid celebration move). After watching him yesterday my opinion has gone down even farther. Inconsistency, especially in players that play the more visible positions, is disastrous. When a QB throws good and catchable passes to a guy a few times and he flubs them all it's not likely the QB is going back to him too soon. To win the tight games you have to have players that are consistent and can make the hard plays when the team needs them. Did you see a couple of the catches that Shockey made for N.O. - those were jumping leaps that he held on to and then dragged and stiff armed defenders for lots of yards after the catch. The Giants didn't get rid of him because of poor play but because he is a bit of a "wild card" - no different than when we had him at UM. The point is Ginn misses on the clutch plays and other guys make them. I'd look to trade him before his skinny body gets broken and he has zero trade value. Harry

Harry,

Can't happen this season as the trade deadline has come and gone already. I was hoping Parcells and company would make a move prior to the deadline but that has rarely been his style. He likes to engage talent through free agency and the draft, which is how all the current elite teams became elite. I believe we could have gotten something for Matt Roth plus a 2010 draft pick, (like dwayne bowe from KC), but like I said that is not Parcells style.

As evident from their performance thus far, the Dolphins have several dire needs to address in the offseason. 1) Defensive backs 2) at least one if not two elite wide receivers 3) an elite tight end 4) Special teams, we need a good kick returner. If we can address those positons in free agency and the draft the Dolphins will be well on thier way to being a great team again.

I have to agree with most fans. Ted "ohhps I dropped it" AGinn, has to go, there is no question about it....he is bust!!! ( a Nick Saban move that continues to haunt us). Put him on a bus with a one way ticket somewhere and move on.

Lastly, there are some positives to take away from this game. Henne may very well prove to be a great QB. Smith and Davis are progressing well and may turn out to be as potent as Surtain and Madison were in the secondary. Ricky Williams is still an impressive back and his pairing with Ronnie keeps Ricky's legs and longevity going stong. Ronnie is a great back and they really need to give him a contact extension as he soon becomes a free agent. The Dolphins aren't where they need to be yet but they are improving. I believe that next year, maybe two at the most, will tell the tale if this going to be the premier team we (or most of us) hope they will be.

Again, just my taxed .02

A tale of two teams again, mercifully I watched the first half, then left it to the DVR while I scooted off to see that little Australian band AC/DC. I have not bothered to even watch the second half yet, the delete button beckons......

I wonder which team will show up in NY, would the real Miami Dolphins please stand up?

Geaux Saints!

I'm fixin' to stop back by the Piggly Wiggly, Rouses and Acquistapaces to rustle up supplies for Monday Night's game against Atlanta.

shrimp & andouille sausage gumbo
jambalaya
crawfish etouffe
red beans & rice
Abita Jocakamo IPA beer
daiquiris

I'm still worried that the Saints will become the Ain'ts again. If they do, it won't be against a tough team - it'll be a team on a losing streak that all the sportswriters have already written off.

Catch

What happened to Leon? oohps, that's right, he's having his leg reattached in California right now.

This will be an interesting game. The line last night was Jets by 3.5, persoanlly I think the Jet's are going to lose. Oh well, have to use the rest room now..... time to take a Sanchez and wipe my Rex Ryan with some Fireman Ed.

Go Dolphins

How sweet it is, Dolphins sweep the Wets!!!! It's nice to see the stars and planets in their proper alignment

Congrats to Ted Ginn for tieing the NFL record for kick off returns for touchdowns. You're going to win back a lot of fans if you keep that up Teddy!!!

the Dolphins season is now considered a success, they swept the Jets.....
amazing that the offense only had 150some yards the whole game....
someone must have pressed the eject button on the jets.....

Funny you should bring up Rex Cryans post-game interview, here is some very interesting sound bites from Rex Ryans post game news conference.........

"Well this is a tough loss to swallow and as you can see from my size, I usually have no trouble swallowing anything. There is no doubt about it, our season is over. I would like to apologize to the Jets organization and all of our obnoxious fans for this devastating defeat. I apologize for eating all of our future draft picks and for being a fat, worthless, impudent member of a franchise that is a total disaster and that should only burn in hell".

"Now please escort Mark Sanjizz to my dressing room and have him put on that little frilly red lingerie outfit that I like so much. Burp".

"Thank you and please pass the TUMS. Whhhhaaaaa, Whhhhhaaaaa, Whhhhhhaaaaa".

Earlier today: “If they do it again to us, they deserve it and I’ll bow down and say they’re the better team,” linebacker Bart Scott said. “But my job is to try and knock them out of the playoffs so they can start getting their U-Haul trucks ready.”

After the game: "They're a great team," Jets linebacker Bart Scott said sarcastically. "They'll probably contend for the Super Bowl."

I don't think he stated it on one knee

Time to prepare for the Patriots game. I wonder how many patriots assistants are disguising themselves to film our practices this week?
