Keep something in mind Eric, the corruption in the House and Senate is a systemic problem and not a Democrat or Republican issue. Most all of them are crooks because their allegencies lie in thier own self interest and not that of the general public they are there to represent. To compound the matter, these same politicians are put in charge of, or sit on, commisions and boards that directly oversee policy and legislative initiatives that they wrongfully gear to which corporation or special interest group pays them, donates money to their campaignes or guarantees them a lucrative "consulting" position if and when the leave Congress.

They get us exactly into the kinds of trouble we are in now with this financial mess. Then they have the gall and audacity to point fingers in other directions and put blame on everyone and everything else in order to escape the condemnation that they truly deserve. My sincere hope is that there will be investigations that will humiliate and prosecute these corrupt members of Congress so that they have no alternative but to resign in disgrace.

It is a scam that has been going on for many generations and it has to be stopped! This country will never move in the right direction until there is full, total and complete reform placed on any and all officials seeking to get or retain their elected positions.

You can't expect these assholes to police themselves so we need a Constitutional referendum that the public must vote on that makes the taking of campaign contributions from corporations and/or special interest groups by an elected official or someone seeking office a federal crime. PERIOD. To me it's only God given common sense...but what do I know.

MN you're 100% correct. Term limits are the answer. Congress sits in office for two years, half of which they worry about being re-elected. ( don't step on any toes, do nothing) With the Senate, as Teddy Roosevelt said, they don't know if they're to say present or guilty when their name is called out with the roll call. If the politician is convicted send them to jail, hardcore jail.

Thanks Arthur for agreeing with my main stance.. I have several calls into attorney offices, (oh boy, I'm probably going in the wrong direction there), to determine if there is a "Constitutional" clause that would allow "us" as average "main street" John & Jane Does, to bring a referendum such as this to the ballot.... I have not heard anything back yet, (no surprise). If there are any attorneys that are fully versed in Constitutional law, please chime in with your professional opinion... I for one, would like to hear your thoughts on the Constitutionality of a referendum such as this.
