I fish the northeast canyons off of montauk point. I am always trying to catch live squid with different jigs, but they never hit them. We get a the squid in nets when they are thick but i was looking for a consistant way of catching them when they are not to plentiful.

I am from Montauk and used to get a lot of squid.I used a 3in sinking lipless rapala with the hooks removed.I would put on a the snags from a reg squid jig on the rappalas tail.Good luck.
