Captain Phil Dulanie and Captain Justin Nighan had the Ed Piekarvz charter from north Jersey up to Romer Shoal Friday morning and anchoring in a little deeper water had a very slow pick of stipers up to 37 inches. In addtion though, we had several dowen bluefish. In total the stripers falling to clams in the morning included a few over 34 inches and a few slots. We then left the shoal early to try out some sea bass fishing on the Sea Girt Reef and enjoyed a quick pick of sea bass as soon as we stopped put a couple dozen in the boat in short order. However, the wind then picked up out of the south and as usual shut the fishing down immediately. In all it was a great day to take off from work and get a 4 day weekend in particularily after such poor weather for a week.
