Default Otherside Report

Ran over to the otherside Sunday in search of Yellowfins. Found nothing more than BIG oceanics and small blackfins. Decided to run larger lures to cover some ground and watch the radar. Within an hour we caught and released a Blue around 150#s right on the tip of the corner. Good weed lines, lots of flyers, and plenty of water spouts, but no other life. It seems that everytime I take my boys with me, we catch fish. I guess their education will have to take a back seat this sailfish tournament season.
Pictures are on the marlin gallery.

Nice fish Warlord. Is this the best time of year to target the blue suit?

In my opinion, of course depending on where you are fishing, the best time to target Marlin is May thru August. Where I was fishing, now is a good time to fish for them on the outgoing tide in around 1000'. We just returned from KeyWest with the big boat, and the last week or 2 all we heard about was how the dolphin bite was done and the only thing offshore was pretty much marlin on Woods Wall. We had Duval issues everytime I was down there, so I didn't fish much down there.

Mike, Duvall issues! That's hilarious. When's the next corner run? I'm off to Martha's Vineyard to try to kill makos and threshers Friday. Back Monday.

I want to go over this weekend, but probably won't. I think the swordies are calling me next. I'm going to Rosies with the boys in August for a few days. I'm torn on this full moon thats coming up. I think there is some good fishing left on the otherside.
BTW, I hit some nice flags while I was over there. Left the radar on!
Good luck up north with the makos.
