Turks and Caicos Marlin Fishing

The bigger of the blue marlin have arrived in Turks and Caicos. A fish in excess of 600 lbs was released this week (we release all the blue marlin aboard the Gwendolyn). August and September are the two months that we see the largest fish with a good yellowfin bite as well. Fishing seasons in Turks & Caicos Islands run as follows:
Nov – April – Monster wahoo (island record 128lbs). Sailfish and white marlin are good during this time of year but it is difficult to get away from the “toothy” wahoos. Troll the edge at high speed with lures for best results. Tuna on occasion with Dolphin after storms.

May – Oct. – Blue marlin in incredible numbers, 6 shots per day is not unusual making Turks & Caicos one of the best places in the world to catch a blue marlin. Look for more yellowfin tuna this time of the year, especially off Grand Turk. Occasional shots at white marlin and sailfish.
