Default Virgins heatin up !

Yesterday on my way across from St John to St Criox I hooked and landed a 300 pounder. I was fast trolling for Wahoo, about 16 mph and this guy hit, I knew it wasn't a hoo. All I had were my Penn 50s out, so this guy really took some line before I could start gaining some line back.
I heard on the docks in St T, Red Hook that the BIG BLUES are starting to show up. Marlin Prince landed a few last week, 2 in one day. Summer is here boys, time to suit up and show up !
Tight lines

Glad to hear they are biting. I heard from a friend that they bit a little on the last moon. I miss being at AYH. Maybe I will make it down later this year.

how is the season coming along? I am going to the north drop for a day on the 21St. It is hard to find reports down there, and I dont want to bother the people I am booking with.

Thanks in advance.

It has been pretty good from what I hear. The last moon was good. The boat my buddy used to work on has allready caught 50 blues this year in St thomas. The fished the south side early on and I imagine they are fishing the north drop now. Who are you fishing with?

Bad subject now. We went on the new moonof June. No boats had seen any blues for four days. We pulled up a wahoo within the first 10 minutes, then Nada. Finally goofed around with some of the tuna schools on the way in.

Lesson : only trust the Full moon in June for blues. I figured wed have a shot at one, anyway. I couln't get the father in law to go furing the full moon of July. Big mistake.

Went with Eddie Morrison, Marlin Prince. Great guy, The very best mate. I cant say enough good things about them.

The flying fish were late this year, also.

Next time, Im going over to St. Johns to rent a boat for 3-4 days.

Wagon, Right now I am in AYH till Oct. if you need any insite let me know. The fishing before the july moon wasn't hot either. We fished last friday and released the only 2 we saw and saturday saw none. The July open was that weekend and I think the fleet only released about 42 in three days. With 25+ boats not good #'s to me, but some boats have been fishing since the moon and other than yesterday they were coming back with 1-3 per boat. A bunch of boats are out today and I will see what they are doing.
