Default 4/8 Blue Marlin Fishing Report

I had been talking to my father for about a month to maybe go out and try and catch a blue marlin. I figured what better weekend than the Miami billfish tournament. Boats all over the edge, nobody would be offshore trolling. I got a few rigs together last minute and rigged a bunch of ballyhoo first thing in the morning. We kinda of got a late start but we made it out after almost cancelling the trip.
It was a long trip out into a very wet head sea. We finally put em out in front of the light in about 600'. Started trolling at about 9:45, we got settled in and about 30-40 min later we got bit on the right short and there he is. I couldn't even believe it. We got everything cleared and about 25 min later we had him on the wire on 50 lb. My buddy got his first and the boat's first blue marlin. It was pretty exciting for all of us, especially my father.
