Thanks guys for the iden. My buddies and i caught that fish on a bent butt 80 so it wasnt exaclty what we were aiming for but he was a beautiful fish. I just couldnt tell if it was a hatchet or a white. We actually had a double on and landed that one. The one in the picture hit a black/orange Marlin Candy and the other jumped on a black/green Polu-kai slant head.

Hey Steve:

Nice fishes.
Just to answer your initial inquiry....

It looks like Mike did it for you but not sure if he explained how. But certainly you would figure it out eventually. I was a bit slow at first: but you may be needing this skill right away to start posting all these nice photos other than in the Gallery.

When you want to post the actual image in the contents of your post, I believe that it must be web-accessible. Since that first link is web accessable, you just need to bracket the link with the proper syntax.

When writing a post, you may notice some control boxes above this body field. Click on the Img box, paste your link and the click the Img box again to close it off.

ie. (But no spaces between the syntax)

and Voila... (But without a link, just upload to a Gallery here, then you are linked without having to post it elsewhere if that is what you choose)

Did you catch those in the Keyes or in the Cays?

Nice fish.

I thought it was determined a few years ago that hatchet marlin never actually existed and that they were in fact just a large White Marlin.

One of the reasons there are no actual pictures of one, because nobody was ever able to identify one.

They were just one fisherman's description of the same fish we all know as a White marlin.
